7 Crystals for Mental Health and Wellbeing

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, so I thought it would be an excellent time to talk about some crystals that have helped me with my own struggles, and that I use regularly in my healing work.

As someone who suffers from Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety and PTSD, I have personally experienced positive results from using crystals as part of my self-care. In fact, knowing how much they helped me is one of the reasons I started on the path of crystal healing, and why I’m so passionate about using tools like crystals as a companion to overall healing and wellness.

Lepidolite: Lepidolite is my number one go-to stone for anxiety. This beautiful lavender stone has a calming effect and can also be useful in working through emotional trauma. Lepidolite is an extremely soft crystal so definitely be gentle with it and keep it away from water. My favorite way to work with Lepidolite is to hold it in my receiving (non-dominant) hand, close my eyes and just breathe and let it do it’s thing.I love to use Lepidolite in crystal healing layouts with clients, when they need some peace and calm.

Rose Quartz: This is such a sweet and nurturing crystal. When you are feeling alone, afraid, or unlovable, Rose Quartz helps you to connect with universal love and self love. Allow its energy to envelop you in a loving, gentle hug and remind you that you are worthy and that no matter what, things are going to get better.

Blue Lace Agate: I often use Blue Lace Agate in combination with Rose Quartz for sleep or to help ease anxiety. Just looking at it makes you feel more peaceful, with it’s soft blue color, and white ripples. It reminds me of the calming waves of the ocean. Blue Lace Agate is a wonderful Throat Chakra stone and helps you gently speak your truth and communicate effectively.

Charoite: Charoite is mesmerizing to look at with its black, white and deep purple colors. It’s excellent at helping to reduce stress, promote better sleep and to calm the mind so that you can be more present. Charoite is known as the “stone of transformation” so it’s an excellent ally in overcoming obstacles, fears and energy blocks that might be keeping you from your goals.

Sunstone: Sunstone is my favorite mood-boosting crystal. It has a warm, happy energy just like the sun. It’s a wonderful Sacral Chakra and Solar Plexus stone as it helps with creativity, positivity and motivation. I like to keep Sunstone on my desk while I’m working and often use it in crystal grids.

Rainbow Fluorite: Rainbow Fluorite is an excellent all-around healing stone because of its many colors. It can help to cleanse all of the chakras and bring your energy back into balance. This is an excellent stone for meditation. Rainbow Fluorite is very calming, but it also brings clarity so that you can look at things objectively. If you’re feeling “off”, chaotic, or emotionally unstable, Rainbow Fluorite can help bring you back to center.

Hematite: I carry Hematite with me everywhere. Not only is it highly protective, but it’s also very healing. Hematite grounds your energy firmly to the earth and helps to remove negative energy from your environment. It has been extremely helpful to me during panic attacks, stress and overwhelm.. It’s a crystal that helps me to feel safe, supported and secure.
